Straight blast from the past of 1998!

Do you remember back in the late 90’s firing up your Nintendo Game Boy on the long road trips and in school during classes??? Remember hearing about this new weird game called Pokemon where you collect monsters by throwing balls at them???

Well, who would have thought that now, over 20 years later and dozens of video games that Pokemon would have blown up like it has. This specific video game is Pokemon Red which was one of the first two games to be released in the series (Blue) here in North America on September 28th, 1998. This game is still one of the most cherished and collected games in the series because the cover art features arguably the most popular Pokemon - Charizard.

The game in the picture is a brand new factory sealed version of the game. That’s right it has NEVER been opened! We sent the game to the new video game grading company, known as WATA, to have them encase the game and give it an overall grade based on its condition and seal. WATA graded the game a 9.4 out of 10 and rated the seal an A+.

What does this mean?? Well, game grading over the past year has exploded and WATA is to be thanked for that. You can see closed auctions of their games commanding some very high prices and even see them on TV shows like Pawn Stars. We are on the forefront of video game game collecting, and I think it is safe to say the game has changed!
